If you need more time to pay

  • Ask for a one-off extension: You can request a 14-day extension on your overdue balance by calling 0800 086 400 and using the self-service option.

  • Talk to us early: If you’re struggling, please get in touch. We may be able to arrange extensions, tailored payment plans, or point you toward extra support.

Ways to pay

You can pay your bill using several convenient options:

  • Credit or debit card — pay immediately or set up recurring payments in My Account or the mobile app.

  • Internet banking — transfer funds directly from your bank using the account details shown in Bills & Payments within My Account.

  • NZ Post (in person) — If you receive your invoices via post and don't have a current direct debit, you can pay manually over the counter at your nearest NZ Post shop (fees or limits may apply).

  • Direct Debit — automatic payment taken from your bank account each billing cycle.

  • Automatic card payments — automatically charge your credit/debit card each bill.

Tip: Setting up direct debit or automatic payments helps avoid missed payments. If a payment ever fails (e.g., insufficient funds), you’ll usually just need to correct it—your arrangement will stay active.

Set up or change direct debit / auto-payments

You can “set and forget” your payments from either a bank account or a credit/debit card:

  • From My Account: Go to Bills → Payments and follow the prompts to add or edit your payment method, then choose to make it automatic.

  • Bank automatic payment form: If you prefer, you can use your bank’s Automatic Payment option (fixed amount/frequency) to send payments directly.

  • Need to change details or frequency? You can update your payment details at any time. If you’re on a special plan like ReliaBill, please contact us at least two business days before the scheduled payment to make changes.

Download your bill in the mobile app

  1. Open the Frank Energy app and log in.

  2. Go to Bills/Statements from the dashboard or menu.

  3. Select the bill you want and tap Download to save the PDF to your device.

Note: If a new invoice has just been created, it may take up to 48 hours before it’s available for download (the same applies on web).
