Choosing the right electricity plan can make a big difference to your power bill. At Frank Energy, we like to keep things simple — no jargon, no fine print, just straight-up info to help you figure out what’s best for you.

The plans

Low User Plan

  • Best if you use less than 8,000 kWh a year (about 660 kWh a month).

  • You’ll pay a lower daily charge but a higher rate per kWh.

  • Great for smaller households, energy-efficient homes, or if you’re just not home much.

Standard User Plan

  • Best if you use more than 8,000 kWh a year.

  • You’ll pay a higher daily charge, but a lower rate per kWh.

  • Works well for bigger households or if you use more power overall.

Merged Plans

In some regions, there’s no need to choose — the Low and Standard User Plans are combined into one plan that already gives you the fairest rate for your area. No guesswork, no switching.

How to check if you’re on the right plan

1. Review your usage.
Check your last 12 months of power bills. If you’re under or over the 8,000 kWh mark, that’s a good clue. You can also ask us for a usage summary — we’re happy to help.

2. Try a comparison tool.
Sites like Powerswitch can help you compare what you’re on now with other options — including Frank Energy plans.

3. Trial and tweak.
If you’re not sure, switch to the plan that seems best for your usage and check how it goes over a couple of months. We’ll help you adjust if needed.

4. Keep an eye on updates.
If pricing or plan options change (like a move to a merged plan), we’ll let you know. No surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if I’m already on the right plan?
If your usage fits your plan type — under 8,000 kWh for Low User, over for Standard — then you’re probably already on the right one.

Q: Will switching plans save me money straight away?
If you’re using under 8,000 kWh a year and move to the Low User Plan, your daily charges will drop, which usually means savings.

Q: I live in an area with a merged plan. Does this matter?
Nope — merged plans automatically work out the fairest daily charge, so you’re already on the right track.

Q: How often should I review my usage?
Once a year is plenty — or sooner if your household size or habits change (like new appliances, more people at home, or working from home).
