How Our Plans Compare
⚡ Standard User Plan
Our Standard User Plan is usually best for customers who use more than 8,000 kWh of electricity per year (or 9,000 kWh if you’re in the lower South Island).
It comes with a lower variable charge, so if you use a lot of power, this plan’s likely to give you the best value.
💡 Low User Plan
The Low User Plan is designed for homes that use 8,000 kWh or less per year (or 9,000 kWh or less in the lower South Island).
It has a lower daily fixed charge, which makes it more cost-effective for households that use less energy.
Heads up — this plan is only for your main home, not holiday houses or rentals.
A Quick Note on Pricing
In some regions, our Low User and Standard User rates are nearly identical — so we’ve merged them into a single pricing plan.
When you look up prices for your area on our site, you might see both listed as the same.
More About the Low User Plan
Electricity regulations set the maximum daily fixed charge for Low User plans at 120 cents per day (excluding GST) after discounts.
On our plan, the daily fixed charge you see is the amount before GST — so it’s always within that limit.
To recap:
Best for homes using under 8,000 kWh/year (or 9,000 kWh/year in the lower South Island).
