How do I know that Frank*Energy can supply my new address?

Frank*Energy is a New Zealand power company that's been making energy easy and affordable for Kiwis for over 20 years. We provide electricity, piped and bottled gas to most residential properties across the country. We have a few conditions that need to be met.

Head to our website by clicking here, enter your address and if we can supply you pricing will be presented to you. If there is an issue with supply pricing will not be presented to you and best thing to do is chat with us.

Can Frank*Energy arrange my final reading, or do I need to provide this?

If you have a smart meter you won’t need to enter a final meter reading as we’ll get your reading automatically, we do ask that you provide us with at least three days’ notice prior. For non-smart meters or non-communicating smart meters we ask that you provide us with a reading on your move out date. It is helpful if you take a photo of the reading. You can provide this read by Live Chat.

Will I be able to use the energy at my new address straight away?

When you tell us you’re moving house with an existing energy connection we’ll ask for your move-in date and switch your energy over to Frank*Energy on that date – assuming the previous occupier or supplier has left the energy on at your new house. For Bottled Gas we will do our best to deliver bottles (as long as these were ordered on your sign up) as close to your move in date as possible. This can be dependent on when are drivers are in the area. You can track your bottled gas delivery through the App.

I’ve just got to my new house, but the power is off, what the Frank* do I do?

Don’t Frank* out, this is not uncommon and generally an easy fix - but firstly, check that the previous occupier hasn’t turned off the power at the mains (You can find the main switch in your switchboard, usually located in your garage, basement, or hallway). If you don’t know how, or don’t have safe and safe un-obstructed access, chat to one of our friendly team members using the Live Chat.

If the house has been empty for a while, it’s likely that the supply has been turned off previous/current retailer for vacancy reasons. Never fear all you will need to follow some simple steps to reconnect your electricity with Frank*Energy all of which will be discussed and arranged through chatting with us here (keeping an eye out for the chat bubble at the bottom right of our website).

**Please note that legal and regulatory requirements mean we can only process a reconnection if you (or somebody over the age of 18) is onsite**
If the property has been disconnected for longer than 6 months, you’ll need to get a certificate of verification (COV) signed by a registered electrical inspector. This confirms that everything is in good working order and safe. Please arrange to attach this to an email and it send us here.
