If your power bill’s higher than usual, don’t worry — there are a few quick checks you can do to find out where the energy’s going.
1. Track your usage with the Frank Energy app
Our mobile app makes it easy to stay on top of things.
You can:
See your daily and monthly power use
Check your estimated costs (in dollars and kilowatt hours)
Pay by credit card
👉 Download the Frank Energy app on the App Store or Google Play and start tracking today.
2. Try a quick Load Test
Your electricity meter can show you exactly how much power your home’s using.
Here’s how:
Go to the load screen on your meter.
The number showing is how many kilowatts (kW) you’d use in an hour if your current usage stayed the same.Switch everything off at the wall.
Note the kW reading on the load screen.
Turn on the appliance you want to test.
Check the new kW number — that’s how much power that appliance uses.
Turn it off, then repeat for others.
💡 Check page 2 of your Frank Energy invoice to see your price per kWh.
Multiply the kW number by that price to see what it costs to run for one hour.
3. Take daily meter readings
Want a clear picture of your daily use? Here’s a good experiment:
Take a meter reading at the same time each day for at least a week.
Note what appliances you’ve used and anything else that might affect your energy use (like weather).
Subtract yesterday’s reading from today’s — that’s your daily kWh use.
Try adjusting how and when you use certain appliances and see how it changes your daily total.
