How do I change the name on my Frank Energy account?

Written by Cory

This process is only for updating your own name (like after marriage or a legal name change).

If you’re trying to transfer ownership of an account to someone else, unfortunately we are unable to do that as we are not accepting new customers and existing customers are no longer able to move house with us. You can read more here.

However, you can add a partner or flatmate as a joint account holder. This means both names will appear on the account and both people can contact us about it. Get in touch via live chat or email and we will help set that up.

Changing your surname

If you’ve recently changed your surname, we just need a few details to get it updated:

1. Gather your proof of name change. Send us one of the following documents that shows your new name:

  • Marriage certificate

  • Divorce document or Deed Poll certificate

  • Passport or driver’s licence showing your new surname

2. Send it through. Email your document to [email protected] or upload it securely via live chat on our website.

3. Pop your customer number in the email subject line – it helps us find your account faster.

Once we’ve checked everything, we’ll update your surname in our system and let you know it’s all sorted.

Updating your full legal name

If you’ve changed your first and last name, we’ll just need a bit more verification.

1. Proof we can accept

Send us one of these:

  • Name Change Certificate

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s Licence, Passport, etc.) with your new name

2. Contact us

Email [email protected] or start a chat on our website.

Attach your documents, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Once verified, we’ll update your legal name and confirm once it’s complete.

A few things to note

  • We take your privacy seriously. Documents you share are used only for verification and are securely deleted after we’re done.

  • This process does not transfer your account to someone else.
