Switching from Frank Energy

Here’s how it works.

Thinking about switching energy providers? No worries. Switching from Frank is straightforward, and we’ll handle the heavy lifting with your new provider, most of the time.

How switching works

If you’re switching providers and staying at the same property, your new provider will contact us to take over your site. That automatically starts the process of closing your Frank Energy account.

You don’t need to contact us to close your account in this case. Doing that can slow things down.

Your new provider sets the switch date so everything lines up properly. We don’t choose it, and we don’t change it.

How long it takes

Switching usually takes around 10 to 15 business days. Sometimes it can be quicker, sometimes a little longer depending on admin steps behind the scenes.

While the switch is happening:

  • Your power stays on

  • There are no interruptions

  • We work directly with your new provider to keep things smooth

Will I be charged twice?

No. We coordinate with your new provider to make sure there’s no overlap. You’ll only be billed once for each period.

Your final bill

After your account is closed, we’ll send your final invoice within 10 working days. It’ll cover your energy use up to the switch date only.

Need a bit more time to pay? That’s okay. We offer flexible weekly payment options to help make things easier.

Switching while moving house

If you’re moving house and switching to another provider, this part’s important.

Your new provider cannot close your Frank Energy account automatically when you move.

You’ll need to contact us via live chat to close your account and let us know:

  • Your last day at the property

  • A forwarding address, if you have one

We’ll arrange a final meter reading and send your final bill shortly after you move out.

What helps keep things hassle free

To avoid delays, make sure you:

  • Give accurate property details to your new provider

  • Pay any outstanding balance on your Frank account

  • Get in touch via live chat if you’re moving and switching providers

That’s it. No exit fees, no power interruptions, and no unnecessary back and forth.
