What Happens to My Direct Debit After the Final Payment or Account Closure?

When you close your Frank Energy account or make your final payment, you may wonder what happens to your Direct Debit. Here’s a simple guide to how it works and what (if anything) you need to do.

Direct Debit After Your Final Payment

Once your final payment has been processed and your account balance is cleared, your Direct Debit will automatically be cancelled. No further payments will be taken, so you don’t need to manually stop it yourself.

In some cases, your final Direct Debit payment may be adjusted so that only the exact amount needed to settle your account is taken. After that, the Direct Debit arrangement ends automatically.

Do You Need to Do Anything?

For most customers, nothing else is required. The cancellation happens automatically once the balance is settled.

If a Direct Debit doesn’t go through for the full amount (rare, but possible), you may need to make a one-off payment or set up a manual arrangement to cover the remaining balance.

Confirming Final Payments

You can always check with Frank Energy to confirm that your final Direct Debit has gone through correctly. On the day your account closes, the payment taken should be your last—unless a small balance remains unpaid. Any outstanding balance can be settled manually.

Once your final payment is made and the account is at zero, your Frank Energy account will automatically close. No further action is needed on your part.

In short: Your Direct Debit ends automatically after your final payment. If you’re unsure or have questions, the Frank Energy support team is ready to help.
